Alex Friedland

Alex Friedland is an event production executive with more than 15 years of experience creating live events, brand activations, and memorable experiences. He approaches his work with an entrepreneurial mindset, combining creative thinking with hands-on leadership and a strong understanding of how to turn ideas into successful, scalable programs.

Alex’s career in events began at 14 when he co-founded an entertainment and production company serving private events throughout New Jersey. He later founded a media services company, producing video and digital content for nationally recognized brands and artists including Entenmann’s, One Direction, and Carly Rae Jepsen. Through subsequent event production and experiential marketing roles, he led the planning and onsite execution of simultaneous activations for multiple brands at major industry events, including the renowned Toy Fair in New York City.

Alex joined Small Business Expo as an Event Production Coordinator in 2018 and worked his way up through a series of leadership roles spanning production management and company-wide event strategy. Today, as Vice President of Events, he oversees all event-related operations for SBE’s nationwide tour, from early planning and venue coordination through onsite production and execution. He also plays an active role in the strategic planning and direction of the events, helping shape the nationwide tour, improve the attendee and exhibitor experience, and identify new opportunities for continued growth. He leads the teams, vendors, logistics, and operational systems responsible for delivering events in major business markets across the country.

Alex also works closely with national sponsors and partners to transform their goals into impactful live experiences. From custom brand activations to speaking opportunities and multi-city partnerships, he develops creative concepts that achieve each sponsor’s objectives while fitting seamlessly into the overall event. His work helps SBE create valuable experiences that connect entrepreneurs with the education, resources, and relationships they need to grow.

Known for his hands-on leadership style, attention to detail, and creative problem-solving, Alex is passionate about bringing ambitious ideas to life. Born and raised in New Jersey, he is also a lifelong live-music and concert enthusiast who has always been drawn to the energy of bringing people together.
