Native of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, Micaela is a graduate of Elizabeth City State University with a Bachelors in Communication Studies, a Masters in Business Administration from Strayer University and currently obtaining her doctorate in Strategic Leadership.
She holds a leadership role as an Assistant Director in Facilities Management at Virginia Wesleyan University. She is also the CEO and Founder of Micaela Morris LLC where her goal is to serve women with discovering their voices and assisting in aligning their purpose and passion. Micaela released her book in March of this year called, Deliberate Voices: A Journal of Self-Discovery & Awareness that can be found on Lulu.com.
Micaela also helps businesses with change management tactics, team alignment an employee morale. Her 3P system of Purpose, Passion, and Perseverance helps in detecting misalignments in a team and on an individualized basis. In 2019 Micaela was chosen to sit on the panel for the United States Green Building Council (USGBC). Micaela talked about the Culture of Courage; the theme focused on shaping the next generation of female environmental leaders. Micaela also serves on the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) board as the Sustainability chair.
Micaela is a contributor for the Entrepreneur Magazine, Maverick Magazine and the HBCU Careers Magazine. She is also a Sister to Sister mentor at Elizabeth City State University. When Micaela is not taking lead in the higher education industry or writing articles to encourage a growth mindset, she is advocating for women, listening to ideas and perspectives on the strength of a woman, or you can find her snuggled up with a good book.
