Bill Stump is Wells Fargo’s Small Business Leader in the Atlantic Region, supporting New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. In this role, he provides executive leadership focused on the development and execution of a small business strategy for the branch network. He is also a vice president for the company.
A 24-year industry veteran with extensive banking and management experience, Stump began his career with predecessor First Union National Bank in 1997. During his career, which included First Union’s merger with Wachovia, he held numerous positions within the branches focusing on meeting customer’s financial needs. From there, he transitioned into leadership where his responsibilities included serving as a Wells Fargo District Manager in the Bergen and Essex County markets. In 2013, he moved into the Company’s Retail and Small Business Credit Segment providing executive strategy and leadership in Northern N.J. Most recently, Stump assumed the role of Small Business Leader in 2019.
An enthusiastic community partner, Stump has devoted time to financial literacy workshops with local grammar schools in Essex and Morris County as well as higher education colleges in Bergen and Essex County. He has served as a bank chair for the Lupus Foundation of N.J. He has partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Newark, and the Center for Food Action in N.J.
Stump continues to serve on various youth organization boards. Stump earned his degree in Economics from Fairleigh Dickinson University. In prior roles, he has held his Series 6 and 63 Securities licenses as well as a N.J. life insurance license.
