Every business decision has a legal consequence so it's absolutely crucial that small business owners understand the basics of legal compliance and protection especially when it comes to online businesses. In this workshop we’ll cover the 3 most important legal areas that every small business owner needs to know in order to run and scale a successful business. They are: 1) Business Formation: this will cover how to set up a legally compliant business and what factors to consider when deciding which entity type is best for them -- sole proprietorship, LLC or corporation? 2) Business Contracts: this will cover why contracts are important and the essential business contracts every small business owner, especially those in the online space, need such as Privacy Policies, Terms and Conditions etc. 3) Intellectual Property: how to protect and scale your brand and content through Trademarks and Copyrights. I will walk through what are Trademarks and Copyrights and why it's essential for small business owners to have ownership rights in their intellectual property assets especially in the online space.
