NEW YORK (PRWEB)August 22, 2018
Small Business Expo (SBE), the nation’s largest and most trusted small business networking and educational event in the country, today announced results from its Small Business Expo: Bi-Annual Trends Report. The study, which was conducted with over 400 small business owners across the United States, examines the state of small business, specifically the challenges and trends that are impacting business owners in the first half of 2018.
“Starting your own business has long been the American dream. However, there is a reality about owning your own business that is not always discussed,” said Zachary Lezberg, owner of the Small Business Expo. “The goal of our Bi-Annual Trends Report is to help shed light on the more challenging aspects of owning a business while also highlighting the benefits. Small business owners are the backbone of our economy and as an organization dedicated to the betterment of small business, we believe it is our responsibility to give a voice to small business owners and help educate those looking to start their own dreams.”
Key findings from the report include:
- 38 percent of respondents said confidence in their business has grown and their overall outlook over the next year is positive
- 60 percent of respondents said they consider the resources available to them to be factors for success in their business
- 41 percent of respondents said they feel optimistic about the U.S. economy in the next 12 months
Small business owners continue to face any number of challenges, with the development of technologies, including AI and Machine Learning taking over more aspects of business, to regulation and governmental tariffs and sales taxes potentially reshaping the way Americans do business. The report put together by the Small Business Expo examines, among other topics, these challenges and the role they play in determining success for American business owners.
